What We Do
Interviews, features, magazines, books. We work with narrative in all its forms, in Korean and in English.
Magazine B, Korea’s first magazine published simultaneously in both Korean and English, has grown into a brand media platform with a global readership and reach. TrueVoice has shared in that journey from the beginning, helping bring the stories of countless brands to readers around the world. Over more than a decade of collaboration, we have developed a deep understanding of what makes Magazine B distinctive—an understanding that allows its singular perspective, tone, and sensibility to come through just as faithfully in English.
Unrelenting chronicles the dramatic rise of Toss—the leading Korean fintech platform operated by Viva Republica—into a unicorn, revealing not only the milestones that shaped its growth but also the candid decisions, struggles, and stories behind them. At the heart of the book is the sheer tenacity that has defined Toss from day one. Our translation sought to capture that spirit, bringing the Toss team’s distinctive voice into English with the same immediacy, candor, and energy as the original.
Understanding a chair means examining its design and architecture, its materials and technology, and the time and place from which it emerged. In Magazine C, we traced these many layers with care, illuminating the ideas behind each chair and the cultural landscape that shaped it.
The Culture, The Future traces 30 years of SM Entertainment alongside the rise of K-pop. Spanning music, artists, fandom, and the broader industry, the book brings together an expansive record of three decades of change. TrueVoice paid close attention to the shifting language and cultural context of each era, vividly bringing the story of SM and K-pop to life in English.
Starting with a single ingredient, Magazine F expands its lens to explore the histories, cultures, people, and places that surround it. Its stories range from in-depth knowledge of food to the cultural contexts behind what we eat. TrueVoice focused on carrying that breadth into English while balancing factual precision with an engaging reading experience.
How can something as familiar to Koreans as soju be introduced to readers who may know little about it? The Book of Soju looks beyond the drink itself, exploring everything from its ingredients and distillation methods to its history and place in Korean drinking culture. Throughout the translation, we carefully calibrated language and context to make this distinctly Korean story both accessible and engaging to readers around the world.
Untold Originals, a collaboration between B Media Company and CJ ENM, looks into what makes Korean content distinctive, moving across artists and creators, film and television, music and the wider entertainment industry. TrueVoice carefully captured the shifting voices of different genres and generations, ensuring that the energy and individuality of Korean entertainment come through just as vividly for a global readership.
